Mission Description

Our client in the Energy Sector is seeking a consultant to support various studies, including the next Federal Development Plan. This study, published every four years, outlines the strategic development of Belgium's electricity transmission grid.

The process involves developing multi-energy scenarios, collaborating with stakeholders, and facilitating public consultations. This year, the focus will be on:

Close collaboration with other transmission system operators (Fluxys, DSOs).

Extensive stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Scenario Development & Stakeholder Engagement

Collect, analyze, and prepare data for scenario creation (NECP, market trends, development plans, decarbonization strategies).

Co-develop scenarios within expert working groups.

Visualize scenario assumptions and align them with stakeholders through workshops.

Document meeting minutes and workshop discussions.

Prepare public consultation documents (Excel, Word, etc.).

Gather and address expert feedback from public consultations.

Additional Support

Assist in other projects within the Scenarios, Market & Adequacy (SMA) department as needed.

About the Client

Our client in the Energy Sector manages Belgium's high-voltage electricity network. Their key roles include:

Asset Management - Developing and maintaining the electricity transmission infrastructure.

System Management - Ensuring reliable electricity transport and maintaining supply-demand balance 24/7.

Market Facilitation - Improving electricity market operations and transparency.

The SMA department is responsible for:

Security of supply studies (short-, medium-, and long-term).

Vision studies and cost-benefit analysis for future grid projects.

Requirements

Education & Experience

Degree in Economics, Engineering, or relevant energy sector experience.

Strong understanding of the energy market and industry trends.

Skills

Highly organized with strong attention to detail.

Proactive and capable of managing multiple tasks.

Excellent proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Ability to create effective visual representations of complex data.

Knowledge of Python, R, VBA, economic dispatch tools, or data analysis is a plus.

Languages

Fluent in English (mandatory).

Knowledge of French and/or Dutch is a plus.
