Service Overview: Our client is seeking a motivated, quick-learning Application Support Engineer who will:
Architect Server Infrastructure: Design server architecture for deploying new applications and middleware, analyzing requirements, testing, and managing deployments in collaboration with the team lead.
Ensure Security and Manageability: Evaluate requirements against security standards and manageability protocols.
Liaise with IT Clients: Act as a subject matter expert, interfacing with internal (primarily IT) clients.
Troubleshoot Complex Issues: Provide third-line support to troubleshoot advanced issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Deploy and maintain in-house applications in acceptance and production environments (primarily Windows IIS & SQL-based).
Configure F5 load-balancing VIPs for web applications.
Administer core applications, such as RabbitMQ and Redis Cache (knowledge in these areas is a plus).
Enforce and monitor security standards and guidelines.
Perform environment monitoring, change management, and patch management.
Ensure 2nd/3rd level support, collaborating with Microsoft and other third-party providers.
Keep all operational and installation documentation up-to-date.
Participate in the duty role (24/7 availability required every six weeks).
Requirements:
Technical Skills:
Linux Redhat: Demonstrated experience in application support (deployment, log verification, system monitoring, and scripting).
Windows Server (2012-2019): Minimum 10 years of expert experience.
IIS Management and Web Deployment: Proven experience in managing IIS and deploying websites.
IT Fundamentals: Solid background in networking, security, end-user support, and ITIL.
Powershell Proficiency: Required.
Database and Middleware Knowledge: Familiarity with MS-SQL, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, NEO4J, or Redis Cache is beneficial (training will be provided as needed).
Network and Security: Understanding of firewall and load-balancing concepts; product training will be available.
Non-Technical Skills:
Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently.
Excellent planning and organizational skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Pragmatic, customer-focused approach.
Presentation and Visio diagramming skills.
Willingness and ability to learn new products and technologies within one year.
Language Requirements: Native proficiency in French or Dutch, with the ability to understand the other language. English is required for documentation and meetings; German is a plus.
Telework Policy: 60% remote, 40% onsite.
Driver's License & Car: Required for duty role.
Location: Primarily at our client's Schaerbeek office, with occasional travel to Berlin (expenses covered).
Additional Information for Candidates Outside the EU: Candidates must possess a valid work permit and residence permit, allowing them to work and reside in Belgium.
