Array Cable Project Engineer
Contract Greater London

You will be an experienced Array Cable Project Engineer with prior offshore wind farm experience. The contract will run until Autumn 2025. The role is based in Central London, home working can be considered. Travel locations: UK, US, EU, Denmark, and locations to be confirmed by the project.


To be eligible, you need to demonstrate


In-depth understanding of HV cable systems, encompassing electrical and thermal aspects, coupled with the ability to interpret industry standards and TRs.
Ability to offer effective technical solutions to challenges during project maturation and execution
BSc Electrical Engineering or equivalent professional experience
Min. 5 years of practical as well as theoretical experience within high voltage array cables and accessories
Possesses the skills of a good project engineer (technically skilled, integrity, communication, adaptability, teamwork and decision-making); and preferably experience with IT tools/ procedures


The role responsibilities include


Responsible for the engineering of supply, jointing, termination, and testing of array cables including associated connection equipment, in compliance with HVC requirements and standards during project maturation and execution
Leading the technical interfaces within the cable package including by providing HVC technical input to internal stakeholders and to supplier(s)
Ensuring technical requirements from internal stakeholders are incorporated in the supplier's design, where relevant
Evaluating suppliers' technical proposals
Ensuring that the detailed design towards certification is signed off, where relevant
Verifying supplier's product design by reviewing supplier's engineering documentations or by independent analyses via HVC approved in-house tool(s)
Reviewing and accepting design of cable routes and routing plan on OSS and on FOU
Providing technical input to project risks/opportunities, change requests, variation orders and claims
Responsible for Management of Change (not covered under change request)
Providing input to technical audit(s) and participating in quality audit(s) with QHSE team
Responsible for defining and coordinating project-specific inspection and testing activities (e.g. PQT, EQT, TT, FAI, FAT, SAT, etc.) including those with CVA involvement
Reviewing and accepting quality-related documentations (e.g. ITPs, PQP, FAT reports, Test procedures & reports, MRB, RAMS, etc.) from suppliers including preparing internal QAS and QAP
Preparing or adapting inspection checklists for testing activities during manufacturing and termination & testing phases (incl. use of Digital Inspection Tool, DIT)
Preparing and assigning RDS-PP asset codes (e.g. RDS-PP SLD)
Preparing O&M Level 2 Manual, spare parts and tools register as part of the handover to O&M
Responsible for the NCR management and LL in Synergi
Responsible for the electrical aspect of cables and thermal aspect of both cables and CPSs
