Mission Description: As a (Junior) Expert in Telecom, you will play a vital role in the Secondary Systems Expertise team, developing technical expertise and taking responsibility for your domain. Your contributions will help foster economic growth while reducing the ecological footprint.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft technical standards, specifications, and solutions based on concept notes and guidelines for investment projects.
Manage existing framework agreements and assist in the European tendering process for new agreements, including market research and drafting technical specifications.
Provide technical support and advice to project teams.
Develop and deliver technical training to operational units.
Acquire comprehensive knowledge of the secondary section of a substation, with a primary focus on telecommunications.
Specific Duties:
Interface equipment between Secondary Systems (e.g., differential protections, teleprotections) and active telecommunications equipment (TDM, MPLS).
Gradually take responsibility for the "passive part" of telecom equipment, including optical fiber connection materials (fiber optic cables, HDPE ducts, patch panels), copper Ethernet connections, and 19-inch racks.
Collaborate closely with the "datacom" department responsible for operational management of the telecommunications network.
Continually enhance your technical expertise in telecommunications as tasks evolve.
Requirements:
Civil or industrial engineer in electricity or electromechanics.
Proficient in Dutch, French, and English, both orally and in writing.
Customer- and results-oriented, with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
Strong teamwork and communication skills, along with persuasive abilities.
Excellent analytical and synthesizing skills for clear communication of complex topics.
Proactive and independent management of tasks.
Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with telecommunications is advantageous.
A few years of work experience in the telecom domain.
Expert Profile:
Willingness to build in-depth knowledge in the telecommunications domain.
Eagerness to acquire new knowledge about relevant technologies and applications.
Proactively seek to expand your expertise.
Additional Technical Knowledge (Preferred):
Experience in drafting technical specifications.
Familiarity with industry standards (IEC, etc.).
Experience with telecommunications connection materials.
