Solution Architect - Energy Sector

Mission Context

For the Solution Architecture function within the IT Architecture department, our client in the Energy Sector is seeking a qualified and dedicated Solution Architect.

A key aspect of this role is to optimize IT infrastructure and the application landscape to meet business challenges while modernizing technology solutions. The ideal candidate excels at designing and adapting technical solutions, driving transformation initiatives, and engaging with business and IT stakeholders across Belgium and Germany.

Job Responsibilities

As a member of the Digital Division (Division D), the Solution Architect will:

Analyze constraints, non-functional and functional requirements.

Decompose business capabilities into relevant Solution Building Blocks using recommended architectural styles and patterns (based on Reference Architectures).

Align stakeholders within the Product Organization, the Architecture team, and the delivery team.

Participate in the delivery team to ensure solution implementation aligns with the design.

Deliver Architecture Designs in accordance with the company's Architecture Vision, standards, and guidelines.

Provide integration designs, application architecture solutions, and utilize available tools.

Follow governance structures (Design Boards) for decision-making (e.g., ADR, ATAM).

Requirements

The ideal candidate must meet the following criteria:

At least 6 years of relevant experience as a Solution Architect.

Ability to work autonomously and proactively engage stakeholders at all levels.

Strong result-oriented mindset.

Agile mindset with experience in an Agile environment (preferred).

Proficiency in IT Standards such as ArchiMate, TOGAF, ATAM, CBAM.

Ability to work in a team and accept constructive feedback.

Experience with Architecture Modeling Languages such as ArchiMate; experience with Sparx Enterprise Architect is a plus.

Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD), microservices, and event-driven architectures, including their principles, opportunities, and challenges.

Eagerness to learn, share knowledge, embrace change, and apply past learnings.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to present and facilitate discussions effectively.

Fluent in English and German (mandatory). Collaboration with French, Dutch, and German-speaking team members is required; knowledge of these languages is a plus.
