About the Role

Our client's Data Platform is structured around the principles of Data Mesh, emphasizing domain ownership, data-as-a-product, and federated computational governance. The platform consists of Enabler Products supporting end users and engineers, as well as Data Product Teams delivering curated and business-driven data solutions.

As an Enterprise Data Architect, you will be part of a Platform Product Team, supporting both the product and the broader Enterprise Data Architecture function. You will be instrumental in designing robust foundations for the Data Platform, ensuring alignment between technology and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

Bridge the business and technology domains to achieve strategic objectives.

Align data platform architecture with the needs of data product teams.

Advocate for and drive the adoption of the data platform by supporting all Data Product Teams as internal customers.

Collaborate with subject matter experts, Solution Architects, and Systems Architects to design enterprise data architecture blueprints.

Help prioritize and focus on data management, governance, and quality improvement initiatives.

Support the Transversal Data Model (TDM) and Canonical Data Model (CDM) to structure business data independently of current system implementations.

Drive Proof of Concepts (PoCs) to evaluate and validate enterprise data architecture solutions.

Collect and integrate feedback from Data Product Teams, ensuring alignment with their needs.

Guide Data Advisors and Engineers in designing best-in-class solutions.

Maximize the value of the product by closely collaborating with the Product Owner.

Required Qualifications & Experience

8+ years of experience in Solution and Blueprint design as a cross-domain Enterprise, Data, or Solution Architect.

8+ years of experience designing Data Integrations within the enterprise and with external parties, bridging Cloud and On-Premise systems.

7+ years of experience establishing best practices, methodologies, frameworks, principles, policies, and processes.

Fluent in English and at least one of the following languages: Dutch, French, or German.

Strong experience in Domain-Driven Design, Data Modeling, Messaging Systems, and Event-Driven Architecture.

Expertise in data-intensive API and RESTful architecture.

Some experience designing Master Data Management (MDM) solutions (optional).

Experience with Big Data and Data Lake solutions (optional).

3+ years of experience developing data-focused products (optional).

Exposure to Data Mesh-based Architectures (optional).

Proven expertise in metadata management, data catalogs, and metadata harvesting tools.

Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics.

Experience in Electrical Asset Management and the Transmission System Operator (TSO) domain is a plus.

Additional Information

Candidates must possess a valid work permit allowing them to work in Belgium.

Non-EU candidates must hold a valid residence permit confirming their right of residence in Belgium.
